- Beers from Maelstrom


  • Petra Kolsch - German golden ale, lightly hopped with soft malt flavor. This summer seasonal  is crisp and drinkable. Originates from Cologne, Germany. Named for an exchange student from Cologne who introduced the style to the family. 5.0% ABV.


  • Hang Fire Pale Ale - This pale ale balances a medium caramel malt profile with mild bitterness and floral aroma. 5.5% ABV. 


  • Belgian Wit - Light and fruity ale brewed with white wheat and barley. Boil additions of bitter orange peel and coriander. Semi-opaque and creamy, yet light and refreshing. 5.0% ABV.


  • India Pale Ale "Anodyne" - A classic northwest style IPA. Hops, hops, and more hops with a moderate caramel malt backbone. Plenty of late, aroma hop additions with aromas of grapefruit, papaya, tangerine, and lychee. 7.3% ABV.


  • Porter - Dark in color with rich maltiness from English Maris Otter with a healthy amount of chocolate malt. Lightly hopped. 5.8% ABV.


  • Blonde "Icarus" - Golden ale brewed with Washington state 2-row malt to be dry and refreshing. Whirlpool additions of German Mandarina Bavaria hops and lightly dry hopped with Washington State Citra. 5.9% ABV.


  • Imperial IPA "Elixir of Reduced Dexterity" - More grain and hops per glass than a typical IPA. A medium caramel malt base supports the nearly double hop additions per barrel compared to Anodyne. Notes of grapefruit, pine, and tropical fruit. 8.5% ABV.


  • Rye Amber "Scylla" - An American amber brewed with 20% rye malt. This medium bodied ale has very subtle peppery rye flavor with a smooth finish. Fermented with an east coast yeast strain for a slightly tart character. 5.8% ABV. 32 IBU.


  • Bavarian Hefeweizen - A Bavarian style wheat beer with clove phenolics and banana ever aroma. Slightly cloudy, light and refreshing. Fermented with a Weihenstephan Weizen yeast. 5.8% ABV. 11 IBU


  • Citrus Golden Ale "Zest" - Light and refreshing light ale, loaded with citrus flavor. Limited release from the experimental series. 5.9% ABV.


  • New England IPA "Jetsam" - Juicy and hazy melon forward IPA.


  • Raspberry SMaSH - Single malt and single hop ale loaded with Oregon raspberries. Slightly tart and refreshing


  • ​Dunkelweizen - German style ale with amber brown color, notes of banana, clove and bubblegum from authentic German wizen yeast.


  • Froot Juice - Juicy, session IPA brewed with wheat and flaked oats. Very low bitterness but loaded with fruity hop aroma from the multiple dry hop additions. 5.2% ABV.


  • Scotch Ale (A.K.A. MacGuyver) - High gravity beer with full-bodied malt profile for complex flavors and sweetness.


  • Light Session Ale "Helios" - Easy drinking light ale brewed with 100% Washington state pilsner malt. Crisp finish. 4.5% ABV. 26 IBU.


  • Northwest style IPA "Kessel Run" - Medium bodied NW IPA dry hopped with Falconers Flight and Galaxy hops. 7.2% ABV 63 IBU.


  • Nitro Stout - Dark and smooth. Hints of chocolate and toffee. 5.9% ABV 29 IBU.


  • Rotating Cask - Special one-off versions of the above beers, naturally carbonated in the cask, often with adjuncts








Kirkland, WA


The tasting room features 18 rotating taps, including one hand pump beer-engine for cask beer and two nitro faucets. Typically, there are two guest ciders on tap. Homemade root beer or sarsaparilla is usually available.
